Tapasya Palliative & Hospice Care Centre marked a truly special milestone with the official inauguration of its dedicated Childhood Cancer Care Unit, a heartfelt initiative created to bring comfort, care, and smiles to children courageously battling cancer.
The newly inaugurated unit stands as a symbol of love, hope, and dignity, offering specialized, completely free palliative care for pediatric cancer patients. With this compassionate step forward, Tapasya continues its mission to ensure that every child facing a life-limiting illness receives holistic care, emotional support, and a nurturing environment that uplifts both the child and their family. 💛🎗️
Lions International and LCIF Constitutional Area Leader and former International Director Vamshidhar Babu, who inaugurated the building, highlighted the significance of this initiative. He said,
“The Lions International’s childhood cancer project is one of its eight global service priorities. While our focus was earlier on vision-related programs, we now take a major step toward supporting children battling cancer. This initiative aims not only at treatment but also at spreading awareness, ensuring education for children, protecting parents’ livelihoods, and helping children retain their childhood spirit.”
Adding to the day’s celebration, the event also hosted the curtain raiser of the Mangaluru Beach Festival & Mangaluru Triathlon 2026, an upcoming three-day celebration of fitness, coastal culture, and community spirit, to be held from January 9 to 11, 2026. 🏖️🏃♂️🚴♀️🏊♂️
The occasion was graced by dignitaries, supporters, and well-wishers, whose presence added joy and inspiration to this significant day. Their encouragement continues to strengthen Tapasya’s commitment to building a compassionate community that stands by those in need.
As Tapasya takes this meaningful stride forward, we remain deeply grateful to all our supporters and partners who make our vision possible. Together, let us continue to create waves of hope, health, and happiness for those who need it most. 💖
